We believe social and environmental responsibility
is our responsibility. Here’s how we walk the talk:
We help increase the demand for organic acreage
and sustainable farming practices by buying organic raw materials.
We purchase fair trade shea butter, cocoa, vanilla, sugar and Nepali
Lokta (the paper ties decorating our soaps) to help ensure living
wages and safe working conditions for indigenous producers.
Everything that comes into and goes out
of our shop is reused, recycled, or recyclable, including shipping
materials, product labels, glass and aluminum containers, and
more.
We support new renewable energy generation
by purchasing wind power credits from Renewable Choice Energy.
This program allows businesses and individuals anywhere in the
country to access wind power. You can learn more at www.renewablechoice.com
We regularly donate products to charitable
causes, including local women's shelters, fundraising events,
and natural disaster relief efforts.
We make monetary donations to organizations
such as Heifer International and Gesundheidt Institute.
We support the Campaign
for Safe Cosmetics and pledge that our products will meet
the standards and deadlines set by the European Union Directive
76/768/EEC to be free of chemicals that are known or strongly
suspected of causing cancer, mutation, or birth defects.
